About The Position

This is a temporary role expected to last through March of 2027. In this role, you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. As part of the Talent Management team, this position will support the planning, sourcing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of the company’s workforce. The Talent Specialist will be responsible for the administration of select functions and will also cross-train in other areas as needed to ensure the company has the right talent to meet its operational goals, while aligning with the company's values and culture.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and or Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Skilled in negotiating offers and terms with candidates to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with candidates and stakeholders.
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality and understand the intimacy needed for maintaining personnel files and other documents.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques and tools.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform recruitment strategies and decisions.
  • Ability to address minor to complex recruitment challenges and take initiative to present effective solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of two to five (2 – 5) years of recruitment experience within a multi-location company with more than 300 employees preferred
  • Certification in HR or recruitment (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR CIR, PRC, CERS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify human capital needs & key roles through workforce planning. Develop metrics aligned with business goals.
  • Source and attract potential candidates through various channels like job portals, social media and referrals.
  • Develop and implement an effective recruitment strategy such as oversight and guidance of the job requisition process to the hiring policy enforcement.
  • Builds relationship programs and connections with different entities such as education institutions, industry organizations, and community organizations.
  • Coordinates and executes the hiring and selection process to choose the best candidates through interviews, assessments, and other pre-employment required tests, and other evaluation methods. Working with the hiring leader, administering the offer of employment and notification steps.
  • Integrate new hires into the organization with effective orientation and onboarding training programs including pre-hire onboarding activities, new hire orientation program, and post-hire onboarding.
  • Assists in the development and execution of programs providing continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance employees’ skills and career growth such as apprenticeship programs, internships and other employee development programs.
  • Assist in the development of the company’s performance management objectives including annual performance reviews, clarity conversations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Execution of the compensation plan for salary and job analysis activities.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures in all processes and procedures in the talent management function.
  • Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
