About The Position

Complex is the definitive platform for global youth culture and music lifestyle, integrating content, commerce, and live experiences. We are hiring a Talent Booker who will liaise across departments company-wide to identify and secure meaningful talent for our video content and digital festivals. This position reports to the Associate Director Talent Relations and ensures content is creative and on-brand. A successful candidate will have experience in digital media and events/festivals, refined judgment, great interpersonal skills, persistence in pursuing top guests (especially outside of junkets), understanding of the merchandise space, and creative booking abilities. Connections in sneakers, film, comedy, fashion, collectibles, and sports are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience booking guests on a weekly basis (non-remote).
  • Experience in Booking On-Location Shoots.
  • Excellent grammar skills, communication skills, and phone etiquette.
  • Understanding of salesmanship.
  • Effective while working remotely.
  • Strong sense of commitment to the company and brand.
  • Highly professional, articulate, trustworthy, responsible, self-motivated, well organized, a fast learner.
  • Ability to work well with clear direction.
  • Master networker who builds relationships and is an outward-facing champion of the shows and Complex as a brand.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day booking operations for Complex Sneaker Shopping, On Display, and other shows.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for talent relations for each booking.
  • Pitch original segments that are not junket-bound, cultivating relationships and booking top-tier talent in sports, film, comedy, and pop-culture.
  • Work with Content, Marketing, and Merchandise teams to understand needs.
  • Set up pre-production calls with talent teams.
  • Coordinate with on-air talent on research/pre-interviews and booking guests & creators with diverse points of view.
  • Deliver detailed and accurate guest coordination information to the tech/control room team.
  • Confirm & contract talent, coordinate logistics, oversee booking execution, and conduct recaps.
  • Respond quickly to short timelines with last-minute guest bookings.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, sometimes driven by last-minute execution requirements.
  • Handle multiple assignments, work quickly, and meet deadlines.
  • Remain current on local events & trends and source potential leads in major markets.
  • Maintain effective communication.
  • Perform general office administration, including following up on leads, phone calls, emails, scheduling, faxing, emailing, organizing and maintaining files.
