About The Position

The company is an AI firm developing a teammate that integrates with existing tools, connects across a company's entire stack, and handles tasks in finance, marketing, operations, and engineering, aiming to replace a significant portion of a company's SaaS stack with a single coworker. They are backed by prominent investors and operate as a small, high-trust team where decisions are made by owners. This role is for a Head of Talent / Talent Lead based in New York City, operating on-site. The position involves owning talent acquisition end-to-end for two fast-growing AI companies. It is a hands-on role focused on sourcing, screening, and closing top-tier talent, as well as building the hiring system to support growth from 20 to 100 people. The Talent Lead will work directly with the founders, run full-cycle hiring for engineering, go-to-market, and operations roles across New York, Warsaw, and Munich, with a strong emphasis on outbound sourcing. Key responsibilities include designing the hiring system from scratch (AI workflows, scorecards, interview loops, ATS setup, referral programs, employer brand), closing candidates, negotiating offers, selling the company's mission, product, equity, and team, partnering with founders on org design, and owning talent metrics such as time-to-hire, source quality, offer acceptance rate, and retention.

Requirements

  • Based in New York City and able to work on-site with the founders.
  • Experience setting up a hiring function from scratch or near-scratch.
  • Proven ability to hire across engineering, go-to-market, and operations.
  • Hands-on experience with AI workflows, scorecards, structured interview loops, and ATS setup.
  • High taste for talent and the ability to recognize exceptional performers.
  • Comfort sourcing proactively and owning your own pipeline.
  • Experience negotiating offers and selling candidates on roles where the cash compensation may not be the highest in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Own talent end-to-end across two fast-growing AI companies.

  • Focus on outbound sourcing, building target lists, writing outreach that gets replies, and managing pipelines from first contact to signed offer.
  • Design the hiring system from scratch, including AI workflows, scorecards, interview loops, calibration sessions, ATS setup, referral programs, and employer brand.
  • Close candidates yourself, negotiate offers, and sell the mission, the product, the equity, and the team.
  • Partner with founders on org design: who to hire next, when, and why.
  • Own talent metrics including time-to-hire, source quality, offer acceptance rate, and retention at six months.
