The Talent & Culture Manager is a key member of the Human Resources team supporting Boreal Mountain Resort, Woodward Tahoe, and Soda Springs. Reporting to the on-site Director of Talent & Culture, this role provides day-to-day HR management and operational support across the employee lifecycle while collaborating closely with resort managers and the broader HR team. This role supports recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, workers' compensation, employee engagement, HR systems, international employees, and seasonal workforce operations. The Talent & Culture Manager partners closely with the HR Specialist and Housing Manager to deliver a positive employee experience and ensure efficient HR operations across the resorts.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
3-5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a seasonal, hospitality, recreation, resort, or operational environment.
Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employment compliance.
Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employees.
Experience with HRIS systems; admin Workday experience preferred.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters professionally.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with managers and members of the Talent & Culture team.

Responsibilities

Serve as a day-to-day HR resource for managers, supervisors, and employees.
Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, corrective action, and company policies.
Support workforce planning and staffing initiatives in partnership with resort leadership and the Talent & Culture team.
Maintain a visible, approachable HR presence across resort operations.
Handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and sound judgment.
Coordinate and support seasonal and year-round recruiting efforts across resort operations.
Work closely with hiring managers and other key stakeholder on job descriptions, staffing needs, interviews, candidate selection, and offers.
Coordinate high-volume seasonal hiring and onboarding of hundreds of employees throughout the year.
Oversee background checks, I-9 verification, onboarding tasks, system setup, and required documentation.
Provide guidance on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, performance issues, and conflict resolution.
Participate in and support employee relations investigations, documenting findings and coordinating follow-up actions as needed.
Partner with leadership to address employee concerns consistently and appropriately.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Support wage and hour, timekeeping, leave, accommodations, workers' compensation, and employment documentation processes.
Support employees and managers with questions regarding benefits, leave, eligibility, and employment programs.
Assist with annual benefits processes and employee communications.
Administer and support HR processes within Workday.
Monitor employee data and ensure HR transactions are completed accurately and timely.
Assist in the execution and analysis of employee engagement surveys.
Support employee engagement and communication initiatives that contribute to a positive employee experience.
Support HR processes designed for a high-volume seasonal workforce.
Coordinate seasonal onboarding, offboarding, staffing transitions, and end-of-season processes in collaboration with operational leaders and HR team members.
Partner closely with the Housing Manager to support employee housing-related processes and employee transitions throughout the season.
Support international and J-1 employees with employment documentation and related requirements.
Deliver and support training related to hiring, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, timekeeping, and HR policies.
Help managers understand their responsibilities as people leaders.
