About The Position

The Talent Advisory Generalist serves as the coordination hub for the Advisory Team, responsible for the end-to-end project management of performance management processes across multiple firm populations, lifecycle management of talent programs, and HRIS knowledge and support. This role oversees employee communications, manages time and absence escalation processes, and coordinates compliance training logistics, ensuring the seamless day-to-day delivery of HR programs and employee-facing initiatives across the firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR generalist or advisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of HR compliance, including federal and state employment law, I-9 and work authorization administration, visa processes, and California-specific regulations such as wage and hour law, workplace violence prevention, and leave requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll platforms, including time and absence administration and pay close processes
  • Experience supporting full-cycle performance management processes, including new hire and mid-year check-ins, annual evaluations, performance counseling, and formal warning documentation, with a strong commitment to accuracy and process integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong client service orientation; able to draft professional communications, triage and resolve inquiries efficiently, and serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders, and maintain a high degree of accuracy and professionalism throughout.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, consistent with firm policy and applicable law.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred
  • prior experience in a professional services or law firm environment strongly preferred
  • familiarity with systems such as Workday, ADP, or Kronos preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports employees and managers across a broad range of lifecycle activities: policy inquiries, transfers, promotions, in-office attendance compliance, and offboarding.
  • Triages and directs inquiries to the appropriate resource as needed, ensuring timely follow-through and full resolution of employee and manager requests.
  • Supports and coordinates culture-driven initiatives and events throughout the year, including themed weeks, Quarter Century Club activities, and appreciation gifts.
  • Ensures thoughtful planning and seamless execution of all initiatives, reflecting the firm's commitment to its people and culture.
  • Project manages performance management processes for Attorneys, BSPs, and Paralegals.
  • Administers and coordinates New Hire Check-Ins, Mid-Year Check-Ins, and Annual Evaluations.
  • Guides employees and managers through performance concern conversations, counseling discussions, and formal warning processes.
  • Ensures all interactions and outcomes are accurately documented in accordance with firm policy.
  • Back up weekly and semi-monthly pay closes, ad hoc reporting, and Q&A support.
  • Provide time and absence process and policy training to employees and managers.
  • Support annual planning and maintain heavy coordination with the Payroll and HRIS Teams.
  • Supports work authorization compliance, including visa administration and the collection and verification of I-9 documentation during the onboarding process.
  • Ensures adherence to federal employment eligibility requirements and timely resolution of related inquiries.
  • Manages a broad range of compliance and administrative responsibilities: New Manager Training, HIPPA training, Mental Health First Aid Training, California Workplace Violence Training, etc.
  • Ensures accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance across all functions.
