About The Position

The Talent Acquisition Strategist is responsible for attracting, evaluating, and onboarding top talent for the organization, reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager. This role involves sourcing candidates, supporting recruitment marketing initiatives, coordinating background checks, and ensuring a seamless preboarding and onboarding experience for new hires. The incumbent will partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs across affordable housing, healthcare, and support services, and will proactively source candidates through various channels. They will also assist in developing and promoting recruitment materials, participate in recruitment events, and manage compliance related to background screenings and candidate records. A key aspect of the role is serving as a welcoming point of contact for new hires, coordinating preboarding materials, benefits enrollment, and facilitating new hire orientation, while collaborating with other departments to ensure new hire readiness.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in talent acquisition, HR coordination, or a similar role.
  • Excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English, as well as the ability to make self-understood.
  • Good working computer skills with basic professional computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, etc.).
  • Capacity for learning new software systems quickly.
  • Self-directed with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks and assignments concurrently.
  • Passion for service and an understanding of the importance of faith-based and mission-driven work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to connect with candidates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in ATS/HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel sometimes – less than 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs across affordable housing, healthcare, and support services.
  • Proactively source candidates through job boards, social media, community outreach, and personal networks.
  • Screen applicants for alignment with both role requirements and our mission-driven culture.
  • Maintain candidate pipelines and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the process.
  • Assist in developing and promoting compelling job postings and recruitment materials that reflect our values and culture.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and HR to highlight employee stories and impact through digital and print campaigns.
  • Participate in job fairs, community events, and faith-based outreach to support recruitment goals.
  • Initiate and manage background screenings, references, and credential verification in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Serve as a welcoming and informative point of contact for new hires from offer acceptance through day one.
  • Coordinate preboarding materials, benefits enrollment packets, and internal systems access.
  • Organize and facilitate new hire orientation with an emphasis on mission, values, and organizational culture.
  • Collaborate with IT, facilities, and hiring managers to ensure readiness for each new hire's start.
  • Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, provides leadership as a role model to promote a team approach, collaborates and participates in policy creation and appropriate problem-solving methods.
  • Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.
  • Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.
