This position supports Emory University’s internal temporary staffing agency, Emory Temporary Services (ETS), which operates within the Talent Acquisition team in Human Resources. This is a temporary role, with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on business needs and individual performance. The Talent Acquisition Specialist manages a high volume of full life cycle recruiting for staff vacancies across schools, divisions and affiliates, potentially focusing on regular full-time/part-time or temporary positions. The role involves collaborating with hiring managers to define recruitment criteria, directly sourcing and screening candidates, and partnering with HR business partners to attract and screen top applicants. The specialist determines the most qualified applicants for specific positions, refers them for interviews, and reviews internal equity, professional tenure, and market trends. A key responsibility is ensuring a diverse applicant referral pool and adhering to equal opportunity and affirmative action goals. The role also involves recommending appropriate starting salaries, overseeing pre-employment processing (reference checks, background screenings, employment/education verification, health assessments), and escalating adjudications as necessary. Participation in process improvement efforts and developing long-range recruiting strategies, including attending recruiting events, developing recruiting materials, and maintaining recruitment contacts, are also part of the role. The specialist will maintain required records and documentation for OFCCP and DOL EEO compliance, compose employment advertisements, and advise HR business partners on organizational policies and procedures.
