About The Position

Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment (MATE) is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist with a full-cycle recruiting focus. This role requires a sales-minded approach to recruiting, emphasizing relationship building, effective communication, creative problem-solving, and adaptability. The specialist will manage the entire recruitment process, from initial candidate contact to the new hire's first day, working with hiring managers across various departments for a wide range of positions. The role is dynamic, with shifting priorities and challenging searches, requiring someone who takes ownership and can find innovative solutions. A traditional recruiting background is not essential; experience in sales, hospitality, retail management, customer service, or other people-focused roles where relationship building and problem-solving are key is valued. The ideal candidate enjoys challenges, finds satisfaction in connecting people with opportunities, and thrives in an environment with ownership of their work.

Requirements

  • Must reside within a one-hour driving radius of the Easton, Maryland corporate office.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, people-facing environment (e.g., sales, hospitality, retail management, recruiting, restaurant management, customer service, or similar).
  • Ability and willingness to travel to MATE branches and recruiting events as needed, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Ability to support occasional after-hours communication when business needs require it.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, hiring needs, priorities, and timelines.
  • Source, engage, and screen candidates through job boards, networking, referrals, direct outreach, and creative sourcing strategies.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Connect with candidates, understand their motivations, and communicate opportunities genuinely.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Coordinate interviews, manage scheduling, and ensure the process moves from intake through onboarding.
  • Evaluate candidates objectively and provide hiring managers with clear, job-related feedback.
  • Identify solutions for challenging searches and adjust recruitment approaches as needed.
  • Support offer development, extension, and negotiation in partnership with leadership.
  • Manage pre-employment steps and ensure a smooth transition to a new TeamMATE.
  • Represent MATE at recruiting events, job fairs, networking opportunities, and branch visits.
  • Maintain accurate ATS documentation and handle candidate and employee information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $55,000–$68,000 annually, based on experience
  • Monday–Friday Schedule: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Hybrid Schedule: In-office Tuesdays and Wednesdays at our Easton, MD corporate office, with additional in-office days as needed
