About The Position

Cornerstone Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), with locations throughout Southwestern Pa., is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. This is a hybrid role. Office location can be based at any Cornerstone Care site with administrative space to support the role. The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports the recruitment, hiring, and development of mission-driven staff in a healthcare and nonprofit setting. This role plays a critical part in building a diverse, culturally competent workforce aligned with community health needs, while strengthening workforce pipelines through partnerships, training programs, and retention strategies.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED, but a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in talent acquisition, healthcare recruiting, or workforce development
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software , Paycom preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in nonprofit, community health, or FQHC environments strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare roles and compliance requirements
  • Experience working with underserved or rural populations, preferred
  • Familiarity with HRSA workforce programs or grant-funded initiatives, preferred
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR), preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manages full-cycle recruitment for clinical and non-clinical roles (e.g. medical assistants, behavioral health staff, administrative staff, etc.)
  • Sources candidates using healthcare job boards, community networks, and mission-aligned platforms
  • Partners with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and create effective hiring strategies
  • Coordinates interviews, reference checks, and onboarding processes
  • Support recruitment strategies that address workforce shortages in underserved areas
  • Develops and manages workforce development initiatives (e.g., internships, career pathways, etc.)
  • Builds partnerships with community-based organizations, training programs, and educational institutions
  • Collaborates with local and national workforce entities such as National Association of Community Health Centers, Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers and Health Resources and Services Administration programs
  • Supports upskilling and reskilling initiatives for incumbent workers.
  • Represents the organization at job fairs, community events, and healthcare workforce initiatives
  • Strengthens relationships with local colleges, workforce boards, and nonprofit partners
  • Promotes healthcare careers within underserved communities
  • Ensures hiring practices comply with healthcare regulations, credentialing standards, and employment laws
  • Maintains accurate recruitment and workforce development data for reporting (e.g., HRSA, grants, UDS reporting, FTCA, etc. if applicable)
  • Assists with grant-funded workforce initiatives and reporting requirements
