About The Position

Fessler & Bowman is seeking a driven and proactive Talent Acquisition Specialist to support the organization by delivering great talent to managers before they are requested. This role requires anticipation and upfront work, moving beyond an old-school "post and pray" approach. The ideal candidate is passionate about finding great people, willing to dedicate time to phone outreach, and finds fulfillment in successful hires. Approximately 80% of the role will focus on recruiting for critical field positions in the building trades, with the remaining 20% dedicated to staffing office positions. Previous experience in construction trades is a plus, but attitude and drive for results are equally important. The descriptions below represent, but are not limited to, the expectations of this role.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of HR or recruiting experience required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • 1+ years experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with local candidate sources (unions, associations, trade schools, colleges, and universities), including managing job fairs and recruiting events.
  • Attracting qualified candidates through branding and differentiating Fessler & Bowman from other employers in the market.
  • Proactively managing all aspects of sourcing, including candidate qualification, knowledge, and skills, and validating alignment with F&B’s Core Values.
  • Coordinating interviews with the hiring manager and ensuring the development of appropriate interview guides to assess candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Collaborating with the hiring manager to complete candidate evaluation and selection.
  • Ensuring all HR onboarding tasks and paperwork are complete and accurate prior to the new hires’ start date.
  • Coordinating first-day details with the HR team and Hiring Manager.
  • Collaborating with the Regional HR Manager and HR Director on continuous process improvement and strategic projects within the human resources function.
  • Building effective internal relationships with hiring managers.
  • Forecasting business needs and communicating them to the HRBP/Regional HR Manager for budget approval and validation.
  • Targeting competitors to source and attract passive qualified candidates.
  • Updating, monitoring, and maintaining the Applicant Tracking System by ensuring all data is up to date, candidates have been contacted and dispositioned accordingly, and historical records are accurate for future review.
  • Working collaboratively to manage social media presence and employer brand.
  • Supporting the Company’s commitment to EEO and Affirmative Action strategy and compliance.
  • Developing written communications in Spanish, including job ads, new hire paperwork, policies, etc.
  • Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team.
  • Performing other relevant tasks as assigned.
