Requirements

  • 1–2 years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, Paycom preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the onboarding process for new employees, interns, volunteers, and independent contractors.
  • Process new hire documentation, background checks, employment verifications, and HRIS data entry.
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and enhance onboarding materials to ensure a professional and welcoming first impression for all new hires.
  • Partner with hiring managers to support a smooth, efficient, and compliant hiring process.
  • Represent Jawonio at job fairs, recruiting events, and community outreach activities.
  • Screen and interview candidates, helping identify top talent for the organization.
  • Maintain and update employee records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
  • Perform HRIS data entry, audits, and reporting to support workforce planning, compliance, and operational needs.
  • Assist with system updates, process improvements, and user support to enhance HR efficiency and employee experience.
  • Participate in New Hire Orientation and help create a positive onboarding experience.
  • Facilitate and support internal training initiatives as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous learning efforts within the HR team.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, statistics, and special projects.
  • Serve as a collaborative team member, providing backup support across HR functions and other areas of the organization when needed.
  • Actively participate in organizational committees and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
  • Contribute to the HR Team's culture of continuous learning by sharing industry trends, best practices, and professional insights.
  • Stay current on Federal and State employment laws, regulations, and Human Resources best practices to support compliance and operational excellence.
  • Support special HR projects and initiatives that advance employee engagement, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
