About The Position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports the overall Human Resources goals by researching, developing, and implementing effective strategies to attract and retain a diverse pool of qualified talent for the organization. This position is responsible for full-cycle talent acquisition activities for all levels of positions across the organization, in locations across the United States and in Canada and may be designated to oversee specific facilities, locations, and/or position types.

Requirements

  • Ability to identify and apply effective recruiting methods and sourcing strategies based on role requirements, labor market conditions, and organizational needs.
  • Ability to analyze recruiting data and metrics to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends, and inform improvements.
  • Ability to effectively work with applicant tracking systems, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and data management software.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Flexibility to be open to new ideas and pivot when necessary.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and effectively partner with peers, vendors, customers, community, etc.

  • Ability to clearly express and articulate key topics and information to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of human resources and talent acquisition competencies normally acquired by the completion of a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business management, or related field; and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in human resources and/or talent acquisition.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, recruiting best practices, and common sourcing and advertising strategies.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move around for extended periods of time.
  • Proficiency in using hands, fingers, and arms for tasks such as typing and writing.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read documents and recognize details at close and distant ranges.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal communication.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear protective gear, including helmets, goggles, gloves, and safety shoes, as required by the job.

  • Demonstrated ability to recruit across a wide range of roles, including technical, production, professional, management, and executive positions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle talent acquisition process from requisition management to new hire orientation for all levels of positions within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, state, and local employment laws and regulations and company policies.
  • Identify and attract qualified candidates by placing targeted job advertisements, contacting community sourcing partners, and attending applicable recruiting events.
  • Build candidate sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges & universities, industry professionals & associations, trade groups, social media groups, etc.
  • Build and promote Volm Companies’ brand by conducting and attending events such as career fairs, outreach meetings, company tours, etc.
  • Ensure a positive journey for applicants, acting as a brand ambassador through all phases of the recruiting cycle.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with hiring managers and elicit regular feedback to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and activities.
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to define success profiles and interview criteria for open positions.
  • Identify and offer recommendations on efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on role, industry standard, and organizational needs.
  • Provide training to hiring managers and interview teams on legal, effective, and timely hiring practices and assist hiring managers with identifying competency-based interview questions and scoring rubrics.
  • Conduct prescreening activities and interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, experience, skills, and aptitudes.
  • Keep candidates and interview teams informed about the recruitment process by sharing and confirming details such as interview dates, times, locations, and next steps in the process and ensuring information is updated daily in applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations.
  • Identify, track, analyze, report, and act on recruiting and hiring process metrics that are transparent and measurable and utilize those metrics to establish continuous improvement goals and provide positive applicant experience.
