About The Position

Alta Equipment is seeking a full-time Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist to join our Human Resources department with the home office in our Woodbridge, Ontario office. This position will report to the Talent Acquisition Manager. This job posting is for an existing vacancy. As the TA Specialist, you will be involved in full cycle recruiting including sourcing candidates through various channels, scheduling interviews, writing offer letters, onboarding new hires, plus hosting and participating in hiring events. To be successful in this role, you must be able to develop long-term recruiting strategies and nurture trusting relationships with potential hires. Ultimately, you will create strong talent pipelines for our company’s current and future hiring needs.

Requirements

  • Must be bilingual in French & English
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and friendly demeanor.
  • 3+ years of previous experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or related role is preferred.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multi-state recruiting preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media, resume databases and professional networks.
  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluation methods.
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • BS in Human Resources Management or relevant field preferred.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
  • Determine selection criteria.
  • Assess candidate information, including resumes and contact details, using our applicant tracking system, Dayforce.
  • Source potential candidates through online channels (e.g., social platforms and professional networks).
  • Execute interview and selection procedures, including candidate phone interviews, assessments and onsite/virtual interviews.
  • Create and/or edit job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position’s requirements.
  • Lead employer branding initiatives.
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs by department.
  • Foster relationships with past applicants and prospective hires, as well as hiring managers.
  • Utilize marketing strategies to enhance Alta's brand awareness amongst passive and active job seekers.
  • Up to 10% travel.
  • Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
