About The Position

Voyago, Transdev Ontario is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead the hiring efforts for a brand-new Student Transportation division in Kingston, Ontario. This role is an incredible opportunity for a results-driven recruiter or experienced hiring professional who thrives in a start-up environment, enjoys building processes from the ground up, and wants to make a tangible impact on a new team and community. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be the driving force behind staffing a successful start-up for the new school year. They will partner with leadership to understand recruitment needs, define job requirements, and ensure alignment with company policies and current legislation. The role owns the full recruitment cycle, from posting job ads and sourcing candidates to securing top talent and tracking progress in our Applicant Tracking System. This is not a remote opportunity, candidates must commit to working onsite in our Kingston location, with hybrid options possible after six months of proven success.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Recruitment or equivalent work experience hiring in a transportation industry
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Goal-oriented attitude
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to handle multiple assignments at the same time
• Able to work independently with minimal direction
• Enhanced organizational and time management skills
• Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
• Very strong Microsoft Office Experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with full-cycle recruitment (posting, screening, interviewing, job offer, onboarding)
• Ability to source candidates via multiple channels (grassroot recruitment, social media, etc)
• Creative in approach to promoting job opportunities
• Able to travel as required throughout the Southwestern & Central Ontario regions as required
• Sound knowledge of Kitchener, Waterloo, Stratford and Central Ontario regions
• Clean drivers abstract and possess a minimum full G licence
• Clear criminal record search
• Ability to build community connections in the region
• Available to work on-site in Kingston as this is not a remote position

Nice To Haves

• ADP software experience
• Past experience with mass hiring in a short time frame, especially during a new start up

Responsibilities

• Post all job opportunities and drive high-volume recruitment to ensure all positions are filled efficiently.
• Interview candidates, maintain accurate databases, and provide timely follow-up.
• Track and report recruitment metrics and progress regularly, providing analytical insights to support leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute innovative social media and advertising strategies to attract candidates.
• Contribute to a positive new hire experience by staying connected throughout onboarding and beyond.
• Gather, audit, and manage all required documentation during hiring and onboarding.
• Work closely with Operations, Training, and other teams to coordinate a smooth, start-up-specific recruitment and onboarding process.
• Build local community connections and partnerships to support recruitment efforts.
• Identify opportunities to streamline administrative tasks, improve processes, and enhance recruitment outcomes.
• Be proactive in recommending and implementing creative approaches to attract talent for a new division launch.
