The Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist will support the full recruitment and onboarding lifecycle, ensuring a positive experience for candidates, new hires, and hiring managers. This role also involves supporting immigration processes, utilizing technology and sourcing strategies to attract top talent, and contributing to continuous improvement through data tracking and process enhancements.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in business or human resources.
  • Three years of experience in Recruitment/Talent Acquisition with an emphasis on proactive sourcing, preferably in the financial industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experienced with onboarding programs, employment verification, and immigration support (e.g., Atlantic Immigration Program or similar).
  • Knowledgeable of sourcing strategies, digital recruitment tools, social media recruiting, and employment legislation, policies, and collective agreements.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment, apply problem-solving and decision-making skills, and integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Acceptance of an Individual Fidelity Bond Application which includes a criminal check and a credit check.

Nice To Haves

  • RPR, CPHR or equivalent designations are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offers, and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and provide guidance on effective recruitment practices.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure seamless integration for new hires, including checklists, internal notifications, and readiness activities.
  • Ensure recruitment activities comply with HR policies, employment legislation, and collective agreements where applicable.
  • Prepare letters of offer and manage pre-employment requirements, including reference checks, assessments, background checks, and bonding.
  • Assist with immigration pathways, including the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), maintaining up-to-date knowledge and supporting employer applications.
  • Participate in career fairs and recruitment events and support employer branding initiatives.
  • Support proactive sourcing through job boards, social platforms, professional networks, and partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
