About The Position

This role is responsible for developing, facilitating, and implementing all phases of the recruitment process. The specialist will collaborate with department managers to create job descriptions and hiring criteria, and then identify and implement effective recruiting strategies. This includes job posting, advertising, and building relationships with relevant organizations. The specialist will screen applications, select candidates, schedule interviews, and ensure candidates are a good fit for the positions. They will also assist with the interview process, collaborate on the offer process, and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Additionally, the role involves managing and supporting job fairs and recruitment events, reviewing new hire files for completeness, and participating in special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Associates Degree plus three (2) years of Human Resources or administrative experience; or Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of above experience; or Master's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Performs job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Builds relationships with key organizations, bodies, and institutes (like HRA, Colleges, Workforce, community boards, etc.).
  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Determines whether the candidate is a good fit for each position.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Management and support for job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Set up, organize, confirm candidates, and be responsible for all logistics for job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Ensure hiring managers are available and present from start to finish on the day of the event.
  • Reviews new hire files to ensure completeness of files.
  • Gathers any information that is missing and/or incomplete items to ensure that the file is complete.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
