About The Position

The Department of Talent and Culture at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for two Talent Acquisition Recruiters. The Talent Acquisition Recruiter will execute talent acquisition strategy while delivering innovative recruitment and sourcing solutions aligned with hiring leader goals and the university’s strategic plan. Providing full lifecycle recruitment and hiring support, this role will serve assigned client areas through partnership with hiring leaders to develop a deep understanding of the unit, positions, and hiring needs. As the Talent Acquisition Recruiter, you will be part of a team focused on delivering the highest quality service to our internal and external customers, with professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Labor Relations, Business Administration, or relevant field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the following: Relevant professional level human resources experience in Talent Acquisition, Sourcing, and Recruitment.
  • Experience executing strategic recruitment plans.
  • Experience with ATS systems, job promotion, and sourcing tools (Workday Recruiting, LinkedIn and Indeed preferred).
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing employment policies and practices.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
  • Excellent organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Must be proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Strong public communication skills that allow the professional representation of WVU to a variety of business, educational, and community associates.
  • Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with team members, leaders, and candidates.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn internal HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the university.
  • Ability to travel to all WVU facilities and regional campus locations.
  • Use of one’s personal vehicle (or WVU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, collaborate, and maintain strong working relationships with leaders to ensure understanding of business needs while proactively working to support assigned client areas.
  • Deliver talent acquisition solutions, sourcing, recruitment, and full lifecycle hiring process for positions across WVU’s campus(es).
  • Utilize proven sourcing and recruitment techniques, passive candidate strategies, and social technologies to proactively build talent networks and pipelines.
  • Leverage external market data, vendors, sourcing channels and the latest technology available to quickly build and maintain external talent pipelines.
  • Maintain and identify in-depth and up to date knowledge of social media, sourcing strategies, search techniques and tools.
  • Provide guidance and support to leaders regarding all matters pertaining to the recruitment and hiring process.
  • Manage the hiring process from initiation through final offer, ensuring a high touch positive leader and candidate experience.
  • Conduct consultative intake meetings for all new positions (in person and virtually)
  • Assist with training client groups on search, recruiting processes, and best practices.
  • Provide weekly search status reports, assess risks/challenges, and drive solution-oriented results.
  • Perform initial candidate screening, validation of qualifications, and salary expectations.
  • Manage the interview process - ensure qualified candidates are thoroughly vetted before presenting, ensure quick turn around on requests to schedule interviews, develops interview guides, debrief with interview panelists, and provide timely feedback to candidates.
  • Assist leaders to determine appropriate salary offer, with collaboration from Classification & Compensation as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and up-to-date records in our Applicant Tracking System
  • Champion the WVU employee benefit and compensation package to candidates and ensure understanding of offerings.
  • Work in a performance-metric driven environment where hiring manager/candidate experience, quality/quantity of hires, and time to fill are measured.
  • Influence, build relationships, and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with key colleges, universities, technical school, student, alumni, and professional associations to build and sustain a pipeline of applicants.
  • Coordinate/host and attend recruitment networking events.
  • Engage in regular in person and virtual meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
