About The Position

Civil CFO is a fast-growing, construction-focused Fractional CFO firm based in Dallas. We place experienced CFOs with mid-market construction companies that need senior financial leadership but aren't ready for a full-time hire. Our work is built on trust, business judgment, and genuinely caring about the people and businesses we serve. We're a faith-driven firm — that shapes how we treat clients, how we work together, and the kind of team we're building. We're a small team (six today, scaling to thirty-plus over the next few years) with big ambitions and a high bar for who joins us. We're hiring our first dedicated Talent Acquisition & People Operations Manager to help us scale intentionally. This is a working role with two equally important sides: active hunting (outbound sourcing of senior CFOs and finance leaders) and operational ownership (owning our ATS, candidate experience, interview coordination, and onboarding process). This isn't a strategic seat looking down on the work. It's a hands-on seat where you do the work, build the systems, and grow into broader scope as the firm grows.

Requirements

  • Experience recruiting executives in finance, consulting, or professional services
  • Comfortable spending real hours each week in active outbound sourcing — LinkedIn Recruiter, email sequences, follow-up — not just managing pipeline from above
  • Equally comfortable in the operational weeds — ATS administration, scheduling, debriefs, onboarding logistics. You're not above the work.
  • Strong, polished communication; can represent the firm to $300K+ executives
  • Business-minded and consultative — you ask why before how
  • Organized, process-oriented, and high follow-through
  • Comfortable in a small, entrepreneurial environment without big-company scaffolding
  • Wants to build something — not maintain what someone else built

Responsibilities

  • Daily outbound sourcing to senior CFOs and finance leaders — LinkedIn Recruiter, email sequences, referrals — building a warm bench of passive executive talent
  • The ATS and candidate experience end-to-end — every candidate gets a clear, professional, well-run process from first touch through offer
  • Interview process coordination — scheduling, debriefs, scorecards, decision discipline across our panels
  • Onboarding from offer-accepted through day 100 — new CFOs and internal hires feel set up to win from week one
  • Full-cycle recruiting for Fractional CFO and advisory hires, from first outreach through close
  • Continuously improving our hiring systems, interview process, and candidate experience
  • Representing the firm and brand to the executive market
  • Partnering directly with ownership on hiring strategy and talent planning

Benefits

  • Base salary: $115,000–$140,000 depending on experience
  • Performance bonus: $30,000–$50,000 target, tied to successful hires, retention, process improvements, and pipeline development
  • Total target compensation: $145,000–$190,000
