About The Position

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. (BWXT NEC) is seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner for its Peterborough, Ontario site. This role is crucial for attracting, engaging, and hiring top talent to support the company's growth, particularly within the Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group. The group is involved in designing, manufacturing, and servicing equipment for the CANDU® nuclear power industry, contributing to carbon-free energy and medical isotopes. Requirements

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in recruitment or a human resources environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, recruitment processes, and employment legislation.
  • Thorough understanding of: Employment Standards Act, Canada Labour Code, Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Workplace privacy legislation, and other legislation relevant to the employment process.
  • Experience using AI-enabled sourcing and recruitment tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, GrayScale, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with remote hiring practices.
  • Awareness of Ontario labour market trends, talent shortages, and recruitment strategies within manufacturing and technical industries.
  • Basic knowledge of Canadian and Ontario immigration pathways, including LMIA and Temporary Foreign Worker Program considerations.
  • Familiarity with recruitment practices in unionized environments and an understanding of how collective agreements may impact hiring processes.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to create a positive and engaging candidate experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate selection.
  • Review and assess candidate qualifications, experience, and organizational fit.
  • Review applications for previous BWXT employment history and perform due diligence regarding eligibility for rehire.
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems to manage recruitment activities and ensure compliance with Ontario privacy requirements.
  • Assess local labour market conditions, including skilled trades and engineering shortages, and provide recommendations regarding recruitment strategies and job vacancies.
  • Source candidates through social media, networking, and AI-enabled sourcing tools.
  • Promote BWXT's employer brand to attract top talent.
  • Support hiring plans and corporate recruitment initiatives with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Stay informed of Ontario labour market trends and industry-specific talent challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and key stakeholders.
  • Provide recruitment expertise and guidance throughout the hiring process.
  • Coach and advise managers on recruitment practices, aged requisitions, candidate evaluation, candidate experience, and related policies and procedures.
  • Ensure recruitment activities align with company policies, employment legislation, and recruitment best practices.
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Develop partnerships with educational institutions, staffing agencies, industry organizations, and community partners.
  • Support and manage secondary and post-secondary co-op programs to help build BWXT's future talent pipeline.
  • Participate in campus recruitment initiatives and collaborate across the Commercial Operations Power Group to maximize recruitment synergies.
  • Promote and administer the Employee Referral Program, including approval and processing of referral awards.
  • Participate in committees, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
