About The Position

As our Talent Acquisition Partner, 6-month contract, you will support BWXT Canada’s business by attracting and retaining top talent aligned with divisional and commercial operations priorities. You will lead full-cycle recruitment initiatives, partner closely with hiring managers and senior leaders across Canada and the U.S., and collaborate with external agencies, educational institutions, industry partners and Indigenous communities. This role requires a strong understanding of the business, sound judgement, and cultural awareness to effectively communicate role requirements, influence stakeholders, and advance inclusive hiring strategies while operating within established corporate recruitment policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field, with 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in recruitment or a human resources environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and standards, including the Employment Standards Act, Canada Labour Code, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, workplace privacy laws, and other regulations relevant to the employment process.
  • Proficiency with AI-driven sourcing tools and remote recruitment practices, with awareness of Ontario labour market trends, talent shortages, and industry-specific recruitment strategies.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and Ontario immigration pathways and considerations for hiring foreign workers, as well as recruitment practices in unionized environments, where applicable.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting for technical and skilled roles, including engineering, project management, technicians, and skilled trades.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and customer service skills, with strong organizational abilities, adaptability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for skilled trades and shopfloor vacancies, including workforce planning considerations, job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection, with awareness of Ontario labour market conditions and industry-specific challenges.
  • Consider local labour shortages (e.g., skilled trades, engineering) and Ontario-specific recruitment challenges in the nuclear and manufacturing industries to make recommendations about job vacancies.
  • Promote BWXT’s employer brand through social media, job fairs, campus recruitment, partnerships with educational institutions, staffing agencies, and industry partners.
  • Review and assess applications for role fit, qualifications, and prior BWXT employment, including rehire eligibility, using the applicant tracking system in compliance with Ontario data privacy and employment legislation.
  • Partner with and advise hiring managers and stakeholders on recruitment strategies, candidate evaluation, aged requisitions, and best practices while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
  • Support corporate hiring initiatives, including diversity and inclusion goals, the Employee Referral Program, and referral award processing.
  • Coordinate and manage co-op, internship, and new graduate recruitment programs to build a sustainable talent pipeline.
  • Participate in cross-functional committees, projects, and initiatives as assigned.
