About The Position

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager to lead recruiting efforts for its Power & Energy segment, specifically supporting the Oil & Gas and Marine organization across North America. This role is a blend of people leadership, workforce strategy, and execution. The manager will lead a team of Recruiters and Talent Acquisition Coordinators, while also providing direct recruiting support for key positions as a player-coach. This position involves close collaboration with HR and business leaders to achieve hiring goals that support the segment's growth and innovation. The role reports to the Manager, Talent Acquisition for Power & Energy. The Power & Energy segment is crucial for powering the world, encompassing oil and gas operations, electric power generation, electrification, and advanced energy solutions that promote sustainability, resilience, and innovation. This is an opportunity to influence talent strategies for critical energy solutions and develop future leaders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing recruiting teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Strong expertise in talent acquisition, workforce planning, sourcing strategy, and recruiting operations.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to partner credibly with senior leaders and deliver results through trust and collaboration.
  • Deep expertise in pipelining, passive sourcing, and candidate engagement, particularly for engineering, technical, or energy-related talent markets.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, high-volume hiring initiatives across multiple regions, partnering with stakeholders to achieve critical workforce goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage recruiting technology (ATS, CRM, sourcing tools, automation, reporting) to drive process improvement and scalability.
  • Strong command of recruiting analytics, metrics, and workforce data to inform decision-making and measure success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Talent Acquisition professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies aligned with business growth plans, workforce needs, and critical talent priorities across the Oil & Gas and Marine Division.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to anticipate hiring demands, provide talent market insights, and advise on workforce planning strategies.
  • Drive best-in-class pipelining, passive sourcing, and candidate activation strategies for hard-to-fill and highly specialized roles, leveraging advanced sourcing techniques, digital tools, and external networks.
  • Champion modern recruiting practices and technology-enabled workflows, including ATS optimization, CRM usage, automation, and assessment strategies to improve speed, quality, and candidate experience.
  • Leverage workforce analytics, recruiting metrics, and market intelligence to evaluate performance, identify trends, and guide decision-making.
  • Ensure a consistent and high-quality candidate and hiring manager experience across the end-to-end recruiting lifecycle.
