About The Position

LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a Talent Acquisition and Development Manager to join our Human Resources team! The Talent Acquisition & Development Manager is responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive talent strategy that supports the organization’s strategic plan and advances a high-quality Employee Experience across the full employee lifecycle. This role oversees talent acquisition, onboarding, learning and development, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains a high-performing and engaged workforce. With more than 50 years of experience working with youth experiencing homelessness, youth aging out of foster care, young adults, and young parents, LifeWorks is committed to solving youth homelessness through housing, mental health, education, and workforce services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Education or related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ successful experience in talent acquisition and development related roles.
  • Experience designing and facilitating professional learning and leadership development programs.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • People management experience preferred.
  • Strong data and analytics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Defines employee success criteria and develops competency-based profiles for critical roles.
  • Oversees and improves full-cycle recruitment processes, ensuring efficiency and equity.
  • Designs and delivers manager enablement trainings/resources focused on effective hiring practices, including structured interviewing, selection decision-making, and equitable hiring practices.
  • Designs and implements structured onboarding and new hire orientation experiences.
  • Assesses training needs and delivers high-quality learning and development programs using best practices of adult learning principles.
  • Designs leadership development programs, curriculum and succession planning strategies.
  • Supports the management of the LMS platform and professional learning resources, and optimizes LMS content strategy, user experience, and reporting.
  • Supports performance management, specifically through coaching and feedback training and resources for people managers.
  • Builds collaborative relationship with people managers using different communication and feedback gathering techniques to build and establish rapport and to best strategize efforts to meet organizational needs.
  • Tracks and reports on key talent metrics including vacancy, attrition/retention, and staff satisfaction related to growth and development opportunities.
  • Supports employee engagement, recognition, wellbeing, and belonging initiatives.
  • Manages budget allocations related to recruitment, training, and staff events.
  • Stays abreast of trends and best practices in recruitment, onboarding, development, engagement, and retention.
  • Must possess strong facilitation, presentation and engagement skills.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices.
