Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple open positions and competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and employees at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR/recruiting technology, ADP HRIS.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a hospital environment and with the Department of Developmental Disabilities strongly preferred.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting and applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience coordinating employee onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, education, or other mission-driven environments.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations applicable to recruitment and onboarding.
  • Experience developing recruitment partnerships and talent pipelines.
  • Experience using recruitment analytics and metrics to evaluate hiring effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned positions, from requisition approval through offer acceptance.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, position requirements, and recruitment priorities.
  • Develop and post compelling job advertisements across appropriate career sites, professional networks, and other recruitment channels.
  • Source qualified candidates through job boards, professional networks, employee referrals, community partnerships, career fairs, and other creative recruitment strategies.
  • Review applications and resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Provide hiring managers with guidance regarding candidate selection and recruitment best practices.
  • Conduct reference checks and coordinate other pre-employment requirements as applicable.
  • Prepare and extend employment offers in accordance with established compensation and hiring guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and timely applicant tracking system records.
  • Monitor recruitment activity, open positions, time-to-fill, candidate pipelines, and other relevant recruiting metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Matheny's employer brand and candidate experience.
  • Develop relationships with schools, professional organizations, community organizations, and other talent pipelines to support ongoing recruitment.
  • Own the onboarding process from accepted offer through the employee's first day and initial integration into the organization.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for new hires throughout the onboarding process.
  • Coordinate completion of employment paperwork, background checks, employment eligibility verification, required documentation, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Ensure new hires receive timely information regarding benefits, policies, required training, schedules, and first-day expectations.
  • Coordinate orientation and new employee onboarding activities.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure new employees are prepared for their first day, including workspace, equipment, access, schedules, and departmental introductions.
  • Facilitate a welcoming and professional new-hire experience that reflects Matheny's mission and culture.
  • Follow up with new employees and managers during the early stages of employment to identify questions, concerns, or onboarding needs.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding records and ensure all required documentation is completed in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the onboarding experience based on employee and manager feedback.
  • Partner with Employee Health to ensure all employee health requirements are met.
  • Responsible for the onboarding of staffing agency personnel and clinical and non-clinical interns.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to candidates, hiring managers, and new employees regarding recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on employee lifecycle processes and initiatives.
  • Ensure recruitment and onboarding practices are consistent with company policies and applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of candidate and employee information.
  • Support HR projects, employee engagement initiatives, career events, and other activities as assigned.
  • Represent Matheny professionally and positively in all interactions with candidates, employees, hiring managers, and external partners.
