The Takeout/Cashier at Gritz N Wafflez is the master of organization and detail, ensuring that every to-go order is complete, accurate, and perfectly packed. Whether it’s handling third-party delivery orders, taking phone orders, or managing in-house pickups, this role requires focus, efficiency, and a meticulous approach. You’ll know exactly what each dish needs—down to the right condiments, utensils, and packaging—so nothing is missed. This position also includes keeping the takeout area well-stocked and organized, assisting with food running as needed, and providing support on the restaurant floor. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks while maintaining exceptional guest service.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Ability to manage orders efficiently, including 3rd-party delivery platforms and phone orders.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a warm and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and carry items throughout shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
• Food Handler’s Certification and ServSafe Certification preferred (can be acquired upon hiring).

Responsibilities

• Handle third-party delivery orders quickly and efficiently.
• Take to-go orders over the phone, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Verify all orders are correct, including condiments, utensils, and packaging.
• Keep the takeout area clean, stocked, and organized throughout each shift.
• Ensure all necessary items (bags, napkins, condiments) are readily available.
• Assist with running food when needed to ensure smooth service flow.
• Provide additional support on the floor during busy shifts as needed.
• Communicate with guests and delivery drivers in a friendly and professional manner.
