About The Position

The Tailor/Fitter provides customers with high-quality alterations and service. The role involves measuring customers, fitting garments, marking areas that require alterations, completing fittings and sewing alterations on time, and following Nordstrom guidelines and service standards. The Tailor also uses store technology to organize customer alteration needs, works collaboratively with the Alterations and Store teams, and educates customers and employees about fit, style, garment construction, and trends in a professional and friendly manner. The employee must meet productivity goals, follow established processes, and be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Requirements

Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; 2–3 years is preferred.
Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 2–3 years of fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
