This is where YOU fit in: Navy Exchange Bremerton is in need of a Tailor/Fabric Worker to answer the call; a team player who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which includes sewing, measuring and marking material, repairing and mending clothing. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our activity duty Military and civilian patrons. So, what might a “typical” day look like? This role operates a sewing machine, performs simple garment alterations and repairs, affixes medals, ribbons, badges and at time operate a register.

Requirements

  • One year of experience that provides the applicant with knowledge and skill to carry out basic modifications, alterations and repair of clothing.
  • One year of experience that provided the applicant with the knowledge and skill in the use of a sewing machine to perform alternations and repairs to garments such as pinning and basting trimming lengthening and shortening sleeves taking in and letting out waists of jackets replacing zippers lowering collars replacing pockets shortening and lengthening pants tapering skirts sewing on ratings and stripes etc.
