Tagalog Role Player – Interpreter and Specialized Roles

Threat Tec, LLC•Virginia Beach, VA
•$150 - $200•Onsite

About The Position

Threat Tec is hiring fluent Tagalog and English speakers to support a U.S. Marine Corps advisor training course at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. During five days of scenario-based exercises, role players portray partner-nation military and civilian leaders or interpret between Marines and those leaders. The exercises help Marines practice relationship-building, negotiation, working through interpreters, and navigating cultural differences. The posting covers two role-player types. Interpreter Role Players interpret between Marines and participants portraying military personnel, public servants, civilian officials, and local nationals, while demonstrating real-world interpreter behaviors that advisors must learn to manage. Specialized Role Players portray scripted military or civilian leaders from the scenario country, including military commanders, media professionals, a doctor, a police chief, or a religious official. The role requires preparation before the event, including reviewing scenario materials and attending a read-in and rehearsal. Role players must remain in character and use only their assigned language, follow safety directions when handling inert training replicas, accept feedback, contribute to daily student critiques, and maintain confidentiality. All participants will also help lead a Filipino cultural meal on the final day. The event runs Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 6, 2026, for 8–10 hours per day, plus a pre-event read-in. Compensation is $150–$200 per day, with actual compensation determined by job-related factors.
