About The Position

Assists the teacher to achieve teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups in order that the students learn effectively. This position addresses current student needs at the specified school. If the current program/school should experience a change in student needs, the individual filling this position may be required to change locations to another school where needs are demonstrated. This could occur at any time during the school year. The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. Responsibilities

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
  • Assists in creating special displays, notices, and brochures for teacher
  • Assists in preparation, production, and maintenance of materials and equipment as assigned
  • Assists individual students in performing activities instructed by a teacher
  • Assists students in finding materials and books in library
  • Assists teachers in locating materials for classroom, and assembles materials for teachers’ use as directed
  • Assists the student(s) in curriculum tasks
  • Assists with records necessary for effective operation of TAG program
  • Assists with student files updating information as appropriate
  • Attends pre-job training, on-going, and meetings as required during the school year in order to remain up-to-date of job procedures
  • Carries out instructions, programs, and lessons as designated in the lesson plan
  • Collects data for assessment and monitoring purposes
  • Conducts library skills sessions for students
  • Develops and implements teaching aids
  • Maintains and organizes inventory of TAG materials
  • Maintains inventory of materials
  • Monitors behavior contracts and reward systems for students
  • Performs miscellaneous clerical duties
  • Proctors test-taking when requested by teacher
  • Reports disciplinary student issues
  • Supervises students in the use of the various programs on the computer
  • Tutors students in various subject areas
  • Under supervision of a teacher, works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher
  • Works with confidential TAG student information
  • Works with students in one-to-one situations
