About The Position

The Tactical Buyer supports the Senior Buyer and Supply Chain Manager by carrying out day-to-day purchasing activities and keeping orders, supplier commitments, and purchasing records current. The role processes production material orders and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) purchases, including tools, supplies, equipment, and services needed to support business operations. The Buyer coordinates with Planning, Production, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality, Receiving, and Finance to resolve routine purchasing issues, follow up on deliveries, and support material availability. The position supports sourcing and cost-reduction work led by the Senior Buyer and escalates matters requiring strategic negotiation, supplier development, or contract changes. Initial expectations include learning company purchasing procedures, approval requirements, and ERP transactions, and reliably executing assigned purchasing activities within the first 90 days. The position is onsite in Prescott, Arizona, and requires compliance with export-control requirements as a “US Person” under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15. The role works within established purchasing procedures and approval limits, independently managing routine orders and supplier follow-up while seeking guidance on unfamiliar transactions and escalating material shortages, significant price increases, supplier performance concerns, and requests to change contractual terms. It has no direct reports. The work is primarily in an office setting, with routine interaction in manufacturing, receiving, maintenance, or stockroom areas. Required site safety procedures and protective equipment apply when entering those areas. Tasks involve sedentary to light work and may include lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 5–10 lbs, as well as extended periods at a keyboard or workstation. Occasional supplier visits or travel may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
