About The Position

The Tactical Buyer will be responsible for contributing to cost reduction initiatives, evaluating supplier quotes and services, and preparing and processing purchase orders. This role involves maintaining cooperative working relationships with suppliers, resolving issues related to purchases, and monitoring On-Time Deliveries (OTD). The buyer will also expedite shipments, prepare documentation for Returned to Vendor (RTV) items, and actively participate in training and development programs. Other duties as needed.

Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent
4+ years of experience in the field or related area
Procurement experience in an MRP environment
Possess analytical, decision making, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and possess strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight
Valid Driver’s License with acceptable motor vehicle history for business travel in company vehicle.
Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.

Bachelor’s degree
APICS or ISM certifications a plus

Responsibilities

Contributing to cost reduction initiatives for responsible locations.
Evaluate Supplier quotes and services.
Prepares and processes purchasing orders.
Maintains cooperative working relationship with Suppliers to stay current with trends and technologies, products, and services.
Resolves problems and issues arising from purchases of goods, services, supplies and equipment with internal and external customers.
Monitors On-Time Deliveries (OTD).
Expedite shipments.
Prepares documentation for product to be Returned to Vendor (RTV).
Actively participate in required training and development programs and electives as suits one’s needs, and support colleagues, trainers, and management as appropriate with these efforts.
Other duties as needed.
