Tack and Pet Associate
About The Position
North 40 Outfitters is hiring a full-time Tack & Pet Associate in Ponderay, Idaho. The associate contributes to the customer experience by providing outstanding service, generating sales, suggesting products, stocking and merchandising, maintaining a clean and organized department, and safeguarding company assets. Ideal candidates have customer-facing experience and knowledge of the tack and pet fields. Open availability is required. The position’s scheduled shifts fall between Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–8 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Scheduling flexibility is needed based on business needs; shifts can include weekends and certain holidays.
Requirements
- Prior customer-facing role experience is preferred for ideal candidates.
- Working knowledge of small and large animals, including vaccines, feed, livestock equipment, and general animal health.
- Good communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with individuals on a regular basis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining detailed and focused.
- Ability to work independently or in a group setting.
- Ability to take initiative, embrace change, and learn new things.
- Dependability and ability to perform to the expectations of the role.
- Willingness to work collaboratively, share credit, and define success collectively.
- Commitment to providing North 40 guests with phenomenal customer service.
- Ability to lift and carry 0–15 lbs. continuously, 15–50 lbs. frequently, and 50–55 lbs. occasionally; team lift anything over 55 lbs.
- Ability to spend 100% of work time on your feet, including using ladders, rolling staircases, and pallet jacks.
- Availability to work all scheduled shifts within the stated business hours, including weekends and certain holidays, with flexibility based on business needs.
