Harrah’s and Horseshoe Casinos offer paid Blackjack dealer training for applicants with no prior experience. Training lasts four weeks, with paid four-hour shifts from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Trainees are paid $14 per hour during dealer school. New-hire orientation is scheduled for November 11 and 12, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the tentative dealer school start date is November 13, 2026. After successfully completing Blackjack Dealer School, trainees are guaranteed $20 per hour while dealing. Dealer positions also include a base pay of $4.65 plus tips, with tips paid on biweekly paychecks. After training, candidates audition for a position at either Harrah’s or Horseshoe Casino. Casino placement is determined by the Table Games department and depends on successfully passing the dealer-skills audition. The role is suited to people with strong customer service skills who can think quickly and perform basic math. Applicants must meet minimum hiring requirements, obtain a gaming license from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission before orientation, and be at least 18 years old. Dealer roles require weekend and holiday availability, and schedules may include nights. Full-time, part-time, and on-call openings are available. Full-time team members may choose from five medical coverage levels and can access an on-site clinic, dental and vision plans, and other voluntary benefits. Other benefits mentioned include tuition assistance, student loan repayment, dependent scholarships, a 401(k) with company match, free parking, team-member activities, and discounted meals in the team-member dining room. Eligibility for certain education benefits begins after 12 months, with full access to educational programs after 24 months of continuous employment.
