About The Position

Responsible for dealing table games as assigned in order to provide a courteous and entertaining experience for Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel guests. This role involves dealing one or more games to provide guests with courteous and accurate service, promoting an entertaining environment, and maintaining department standards of game productivity. The dealer will also provide gaming instructions to guests, demonstrate superior customer service, maintain an upbeat and positive attitude, and initiate friendly conversations. Key responsibilities include handling money, exchanging cash for chips, possessing a thorough knowledge of casino games and department policies, and ensuring game protection by monitoring guests and reporting suspicious activity. The dealer will also act as a role model, promote Caesars Rewards programs, create an atmosphere of luck, celebrate guest wins, and provide excellent service while adhering to all policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited Dealers School or equivalent required (for Part-Time)
  • Proficient in Blackjack and at least 1 other major game (Craps, Roulette, Poker, or Baccarat) required (for Full-Time)
  • Six months of live dealing experience required (for Full-Time)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and guests
  • Strong Math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
  • Must be able to operate in stressful situations
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds, carry 5 pounds
  • Must stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays

  • Build relationships by greeting guests with a warm, friendly verbal greeting
  • Possess money-handling skills, count large sums of cash and exchange for table chips
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of all casino games certified to deal
  • Documented strong knowledge of department policies and procedures including those pertaining to Federal and Regulatory laws and guidelines
  • Check for satisfaction and effectively resolve service breakdowns when they exist
  • Exercise appropriate discretion in identifying situations that require management attention
  • Provide game protection by keeping visual contact with all guests and game layout, and report any suspicious activity to the immediate supervisor
  • Act as a role model; always present oneself as a credit to Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel
  • Promote Caesars Rewards programs and card membership
  • Create an atmosphere of luck and celebrate guests’ wins
  • Provide a warm farewell and thank guests for visiting
