Job Summary Supervise a large crew in construction and maintenance at underground and overhead distribution and transmission systems, including substations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma Required
• Line School graduate Required
• Powerline Design and Construction Program 5 to 6 years experience in line construction field
• Obtain and maintain Class "A" CDL and a valid driver's license
• Ability to exercise good judgment during emergencies
• Capacity for accurate decisions and execution
• Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• High degree of analytical ability, high level of interpersonal skills
• Familiar with all company policies and procedures
• Basic knowledge of First Aid and CPR
• Ability to read and comprehend Right to Know information
• Will be required to work irregular hours during storm emergencies and as needed

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct linemen and apprentices in safe construction and maintenance at electrical power utilities.
• Train and develop apprentices.
• Oversee equipment lineup, operation and maintenance necessary for the job.
• Promote teamwork to maximize safety and productivity.
• Oversee paperwork, mapping, timekeeping, safety reports, material issues and returns for each job.
• Must report to work fit for duty and free from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse.
