T&I Marketing Specialist 1
About The Position
GAI is hiring an experienced AEC proposal professional to lead transportation and infrastructure pursuits from kickoff through shortlist interview. This is a hybrid role, based out of our Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio or West Virginia offices. The specialist will drive pursuits end-to-end, including strategy, schedule, narrative, compliance, and the final deliverable. This role involves working closely with engineers and business leaders, transforming technical information into persuasive stories, and managing complex pursuits. The position offers the opportunity to influence go/no-go decisions, improve content, and build reusable materials to streamline future pursuits. GAI has been solving infrastructure challenges since 1958, and its growing Transportation & Infrastructure practice relies on strong pursuit capacity for growth.
Requirements
- 5+ years in proposal coordination, proposal management, or AEC marketing.
- Proven track record managing proposals to hard deadlines with multiple contributors.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Creative Suite.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel.
Nice To Haves
- AEC industry experience (engineering, architecture, construction, or infrastructure consulting).
- Experience with public-sector pursuits (DOT, county, or municipal clients).
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or a comparable CRM.
- Experience coaching technical staff through shortlist presentations.
- Proposal writing and layout samples are strongly encouraged; include a portfolio link or attach PDF samples.
Responsibilities
- Full pursuit lifecycle management, from kickoff through submission and shortlist interview.
- Lead mid-sized pursuits independently and support major and multi-firm efforts alongside senior marketing staff.
- Ensure RFP compliance by building and managing a compliance matrix, confirming all requirements are met.
- Write and edit narratives, executive summaries, project descriptions, and staff resumes.
- Develop presentations, materials, and coordinate rehearsals and logistics for shortlist interviews.
- Maintain accurate project, client, and pursuit data in Deltek Vantagepoint and improve data capture and reuse.
- Create marketing collateral, including service briefs, project profiles, award submissions, and speaking proposals.
- Improve processes by developing content libraries, templates, and boilerplate materials to enhance quality and reduce turnaround time.
