Under Class 1 and/or 2 supervision for one year and Class 3 supervision thereafter, following specific instructions as to methods and working details, must be willing and able to perform simple and routine tasks involved in the repairing, adjusting, programming, and testing of electric meters in shop and field, and be qualified to do the following and related work as assigned: 1. Use and maintain a laptop computer and/or tablets for use in programming and maintenance of meters, completing daily work orders, time reporting, load validation forms, and other electronic forms as required. 2. Connect and use test board and understand use of testing instruments. 3. Read, connect, and disconnect meters. 4. Program and test new meters. 5. Clean, repair and test old meters. 6. Read and reset demand meters. 7. After first year, perform periodic tests, make repairs, and adjustments on residential and small commercial meters. 8. Inspect meter and meter loop for irregularities. 9. Check customer's wiring for accidental grounds. 10. Check installation for proper secondary ground. 11. Check secondary voltage at customer's entrance, and make load checks. 12. Calculate secondary meter constants. 13. After first year, perform complaint tests on residential and small commercial meters including those with demand attachments. 14. Assist in assembling, building and installing primary metering equipment. 15. After the first year must learn to use fall protection equipment required for ladder and bucket work and within six months have ability to handle self working from a ladder and bucket work in a safe, efficient manner. 16. Perform general and miscellaneous labor in and out of the meter shop. 17. Perform necessary housekeeping. 18. Prepare detailed records, reports and file as needed. 19. Handle and work from ladders in a safe and efficient manner. 20. Operate Company's vehicles and equipment. 21. After six months, perform de-energized transformer rated meter installations. 22. Load, unload and handle meters, wire, tools, materials, supplies, etc. and assist in handling material to and from stock room and field vehicle. 23. Assist qualified meterman in simple routine installs, inspection, test and maintenance. 24. Read and understand work request, job drawings and maps and assist with Job Hazard Assessment. 25. Take notes in shop and field. 26. Use various hand tools.
