About The Position

The Boeing Company BDS team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Engineering Manager to support the T-7A program in Berkeley, MO. In this pivotal role as Production Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of industrial engineers, manufacturing engineers, and liaison Material Review Board (MRB) engineers to define, stabilize, and continuously improve the Program’s production system. Leveraging your technical expertise and innovative thinking, you will guide the team to identify inefficiencies, develop robust solutions, and implement process improvements that enhance productivity and quality while meeting customer requirements. This role emphasizes technical and leadership excellence and champions a culture of continuous improvement, empowering the team to achieve operational excellence and deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in managing engineering teams and projects
  • Strong understanding of production and assembly processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly with military or defense programs
  • 3+ years’ experience in production operations, leadership or support
  • Knowledge of Boeing’s organizational processes, program plans, and policies
  • Demonstrated ability in budget management and business process improvement
  • Familiarity with critical path methodology and project leadership principles
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthetize complex data into actionable insights
  • Experience with structural repair principles and systems thinking
  • Experience in one or more of the fields within Production Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Inspire, empower, and guide a talented team of production engineers, fostering their professional growth
  • Oversee daily production support to meet delivery commitments
  • Identify and eliminate engineering and tooling constraints affecting aircraft production
  • Collaborate with a strong leadership team to enhance operational efficiency and team performance
  • Prioritize and support constraint removal, enabling a lean production system
  • Define areas for opportunity in the production system to enable rate and quality targets to meet delivery commitments
  • Work with a cross-functional team supporting the production system to execute projects and plans in support of continuous improvement
  • Ensure right rate enabling projects are identified for your area to meet flow requirements to support a TAKT based factory
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members
  • Elevate help needed to ensure adequate resources are applied to address production roadblocks
