About The Position

The T-38C Avionics Field Service Representative will provide avionics maintenance technical support for the installed T-38C AVCI equipment. Conduct familiarization and on-the-job training and classroom instruction as required for government or "O" Level maintenance contractor personnel. Support upgrade, test and mod teams for T-38C Program support at Randolph AFB, TX. Support the Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) process and interface between local Flying Squadrons, maintenance organizations, the base Communications Squadron and St Louis engineers. Occasional travel and other duties as required. You are applying for a Field Operations position where our employees must be willing and able (potentially short notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet the needs of our customers. Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer needs and/or management requirements. Specific contracts supported by Field Operations could require employees to perform a deployment to a US DOD contingency operation. Employees associated with these specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. ( Randolph AFB, TX ) This is a union represented position. The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with military avionics and/or aircraft systems
  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical orders
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.

  • Must be a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 (includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree or higher in Aircraft Avionics or Electrical Systems highly desired.
  • Aircraft maintenance training instructor experience
  • Experience in on-aircraft troubleshooting and repair of wiring, removal and replacement of switches, lamps, circuit breakers, and Line Replaceable Units required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and investigation of unusual or recurring problems involving T-38C avionics
  • Assist the on-site customer in detecting technical deficiencies
  • Consult with and assist the Government in development of technical solutions to remedy difficult avionics maintenance problems
  • Provide training to unit-level avionics maintenance personnel regarding system changes or updates whether requested by the Government or driven by safety matters
  • Provide avionics familiarization training as requested to Government personnel
  • Develop unique or site-specific training and related materials
  • Maintain daily Integrated Maintenance Information System operation at Sheppard AFB
