About The Position

PURVIS Systems is seeking a Systems Trainer to develop, implement, and maintain mission-critical solutions for government agencies. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, capable of working both independently and collaboratively. This role involves training, briefing, and certifying systems and crews onboard submarines and at various submarine ports. The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is essential. The candidate will also research and recommend software and hardware components, requiring strong written and verbal communication skills due to the time-sensitive nature of work within the US Navy Submarine community.

Requirements

  • Experience in Information Technology and 5 years of professional experience in submarine operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and implementation of Microsoft Windows Server 2019, Microsoft Windows 10, RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) 7.
  • Ability to interface with senior military and civilian personnel to conduct onboard certification process.
  • Experience with at sea operations on a deployed submarine.
  • Familiarity with Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) equipment configurations.
  • 2-3 Years in Windows Administration.
  • 2-3 Years in Linux (RHEL) Administration.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to think outside of the box.
  • Must be able to obtain IAT certifications such as: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Sec+, RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator).
  • Position requires a government security clearance to the TOP SECRET/SCI level.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years working with Virtual Machine Hypervisors (KVM/QEMU, VMWare, etc.).
  • 2-3 years working with switches and routers (virtual or physical).
  • Familiarity with iPXE or PXE.
  • Familiarity with Postfix/Dovecot.
  • Familiarity with ACAS/Nessus/SCCP Security compliance scanning.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Operating System training, configuration, and certification for Windows and RHEL Systems onboard submarines.
  • Conduct system briefs to Commanding Officers and their crew.
  • Develop, maintain, test, and repair Special Projects System Software and Hardware associated with NUWC Code 34 Special Projects Office.
  • Assist in the development of various TEMPALTS in support of Special Projects requirements.
  • Assist in system preparation prior to shipment and installation.
  • Assist in creating and implementing testing procedures for RHEL and Windows systems.
  • Assist in the installation of computer systems onboard submarines.
  • Perform cybersecurity scans.
