This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. Who We Are HII-Mission Technologies seeks a Systems Test Engineer to support our work at Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, New Mexico. HII-Mission Technologies is a crucial provider of quick response technology assessments with a seven-year contract to provide support to the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Our staff offers a broad range of engineering and technical services, including technology demonstrations and assessments, laboratory and field experiments, and integrated research and analyses. We are seeking additional qualified experts to join our technology assessment organization in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation activities for one or more projects. The technology assessments involve the study and review of a technology/concept and the delivery of impartial assessment services to support time-sensitive programmatic decisions. Each assessment is customized to the unique requirements of the respective clients and span a wide array of domains and systems.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with bachelor's in related field, or 3 years relevant experience with master's in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Possess and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Demonstrated history of technical writing
  • Demonstrated experience with Space Fundamentals, Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and/or Electronic Warfare (EW) including application in operational, research, or technical environments
  • Strong self-motivation and self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to review, produce, define, with the customer, the operational critical requirements, document, and then design a test that determines performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to work multiple projects, handle schedule changes and short suspense tasks
  • Experience in current and emerging defense technologies with a desire to learn new technology

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and strong understanding of Joint Military/Special Operations and sustainment
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly understand new technology, resolve complex problems, overcome human and technical obstacles
  • Experience working with multi-level classified information systems in a secure office environment
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
  • Demonstrated history of professional publications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and direct the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for conducting systems tests and analyze results against specifications, requirements, and operational needs, and identify technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Ensure test adequacy by developing test methodologies, scenarios, and data collection plans
  • Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system level evaluations
  • Assess commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) equipment specifications for use in operational environments
  • Analyze, evaluate, and document test data and results
  • Produce test reports in accordance with established organizational standards
  • Present results to senior leaders for decisions to enhance operational missions worldwide
  • Attend meetings and conduct interviews to develop and execute market studies
  • Lead a team or work as a data collector for another team when necessary to support assessments
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Support other analysts as needed to consolidate test results
