About The Position

Vast-Auto Distribution, a subsidiary of O’Reilly Automotive Inc., is a leader in auto parts distribution and retail across Eastern Canada. This role involves performing tasks related to external customer support for company-supported software, collaborating with the IT team on various projects, and ensuring a high level of service to external and occasionally internal customers. The specialist will analyze and solve customer problems, participate in the installation of computer systems, and ensure the installation of updates on store systems. Additionally, the role includes developing and implementing procedures to educate customers on proper system use and reduce IT support calls. Supported software includes Point of Sale, inventory control, order management, and purchasing systems (e.g., Costar, Eagle POS, Eagle Compass (BI), NexPart, Vision). The hardware and peripherals environment includes local networks, Windows, client/server, and Linux.

Requirements

  • DCS in computer science.
  • Experience or knowledge of the above-mentioned supported software is an asset.
  • Required to use English on a daily basis, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong functional analysis and data interpretation skills.
  • Rigorous, well-organized, resourceful and self-taught.
  • Great adaptability.
  • Willingness to learn new computer languages and tools.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks related to external customer support for software supported by the company.
  • Work in collaboration with other members of the IT team on various projects, as required.
  • Ensure a high level of service to external customers by respecting the priorities and service level agreements in place.
  • Occasionally support internal customers.
  • Analyze and solve customer problems and carry out appropriate follow-ups.
  • Participate, as required, in the installation of computer systems (coordination with other departments, sales outlets, etc.).
  • Ensure the installation of updates on our systems used by the stores.
  • Develop and implement procedures for internal and external customers in order to educate them in the proper use of the computer system and reduce the number of calls to IT systems.
