About The Position

This role is not traditional Tier 1 support. It is a senior, hands on engineering position with responsibility for identity, access, infrastructure, and service ownership, working in partnership with interns and cross functional teams to support Xbox Game Studios at scale. All engineers are expected to have Azure experience. This team is composed of senior generalists with strengths across Identity/Security, Networking, or Infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of strong experience with cloud hosted infrastructure supporting networking and enterprise services (e.g., Azure)
  • 4+ years administering productivity and infrastructure platforms in an enterprise environment, including but not limited to: Identity & Access Management (Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD), Networking, VPNs, Firewalls, Azure subscriptions and resource governance, File transfer and collaboration platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of core Microsoft technologies, including: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, Windows Server, Windows Client, IIS, Azure (VMs, networking, RBAC, monitoring), Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint), Hybrid and on prem integrations
  • 3+ years of experience creating automated operational solutions, including scripting with PowerShell

Nice To Haves

  • Administrative experience with Azure DevOps (organization/project configuration, access models, governance)
  • Administrative experience with GitHub (Enterprise or Enterprise Cloud)
  • Atlassian Cloud administration (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence)
  • Linux / open source systems
  • Source control platforms (Perforce, Git)
  • Process improvement, documentation, and operational governance
  • Studio, lab, or development focused environments

Responsibilities

  • Support and troubleshoot escalated Microsoft IT infrastructure issues across networking, systems, and identity platforms.
  • Design, implement, and support secure development and collaboration infrastructure bridging the Xbox organization with internal and external partners, including: Cross tenant Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) relationships, External partner access models (guest vs member), Productivity software configuration and VPN connectivity
  • Provision and configure secure access for game studios, partners, and vendors to Microsoft hosted services.
  • Engineer and maintain automation first solutions for infrastructure, identity, and service operations.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, driving root cause resolution and long term fixes.
  • Provide technical guidance, oversight, and escalation support for XGS IT interns who handle initial support requests, including: Reviewing troubleshooting approaches, Supporting escalations, Helping drive consistent documentation and repeatable processes
  • Collaborate closely with build pipeline, platform, and services engineering teams on infrastructure and access solutions.
