Systems Specialist - IT Integration

Platform Accounting GroupCottonwood Heights, UT
Hybrid

About The Position

Platform Accounting Group is growing fast, and every new firm we acquire becomes a technology integration project. Our M&A Technology (ITMA) team owns that work end-to-end — from pre-close discovery through post-close stabilization on the modern Microsoft stack. We’re looking for a Systems Specialist focused on IT integration to join ITMA in a true hybrid capacity: roughly half analyst (discovery, documentation, integration planning, stakeholder translation) and half administrator (hands-on Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and endpoint work). Platform Accounting Group is a rapidly growing professional services firm providing tax, accounting, assurance, IT consulting, and wealth management services to small and medium sized businesses and their owners. We currently have 50+ offices across 15 states with much more growth on the horizon. Enjoy a professional and dynamic work environment while making work/life balance a priority.

Requirements

  • 0–5 years of progressive IT experience.
  • Required experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Required hands-on experience with Entra ID, conditional access, and MFA.
  • Required PowerShell proficiency for administration and automation.
  • Strong identity fundamentals (Active Directory, SSO, federation).
  • Networking and security fundamentals in multi-organization environments.
  • Clear written communication; able to explain technical situations simply.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and natural problem-solving instinct.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; scope calibrated to experience.
  • Preferred experience with Intune, Entra Connect, tenant migrations, MSP or professional services environments and Microsoft certifications (MS-102, AZ-900, SC-300).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-close and post-close discovery of acquired firm environments — identity, endpoints, network, applications, security — and contribute to bring-down memos, IT profiles, risk assessments, and integration runbooks that drive Day-1 readiness.
  • Execute Microsoft 365 tenant work (provisioning, licensing, mailbox configuration, tenant-to-tenant migrations); administer Entra ID and Entra Connect; support federation, defederation, conditional access, and MFA rollouts.
  • Translate technical findings into plain-language summaries for deal teams and firm leadership; lead onboarding meetings and training sessions for acquired-firm staff; present integration plans and status updates to mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Make sound technical decisions when documentation is missing, sources contradict each other, or the answer cannot be Googled. Identify what is actually true about an acquired environment and what still needs confirmation.
  • Work with the Security Team to maintain network security applications (EDR) and complete compliance projects.

Benefits

  • Opportunity for advancement within a rapidly growing professional services firm where the Mergers & Acquisitions Technology function scales alongside the business.
  • Competitive compensation
  • 401(k) and medical benefits
