About The Position

Apple is seeking a Software Development Engineer to work on its internal device cloud, supporting Apple hardware, software, and services. The work will help Apple ship new products and features and provide infrastructure for existing products and services.

The position is part of a software development team in the Services engineering organization. The team builds lifecycle-management software that provides core provisioning functionality for Apple’s device cloud. The role involves working with Apple hardware from early prototypes through launch, and integrating software with features across iOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and macOS. It includes collaboration with teams across Apple’s engineering organizations worldwide. The team’s work spans low-level debugging of kernel, USB, virtualization, power, and networking subsystems, as well as high-level system design and end-user experience.

Requirements

• Familiarity with a systems-programming language such as C, C++, Rust, or Swift for servers.
• Knowledge of programming, networking (HTTP, TCP/UDP, DNS, TLS), and distributed system design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Ability to manage projects end to end, from low-level technical design through interface and user experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 6 years of experience, or a master’s degree and at least 4 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• A strong foundation in some of the following: operating-system fundamentals, systems programming, networking (HTTP, TCP/UDP, DNS, TLS), and distributed system design.
