About The Position

We are seeking a Systems Software Engineer with strong knowledge of RF design and SW integration. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams, be well-organized, and possess a deep understanding of industry standards such as DO-178C and DO-160G (EMI). This role involves SW Requirements Development, proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly, and experience in DAL A software development, including code reviews. You will utilize software development tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines, applying best practices in software development, design patterns, and architecture principles. Experience with Avionics functions, Navigation, and Airborne Surveillance (TCAS, Transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT) is crucial. The role also requires the ability to manage project risks, prepare planning and certification documentation, and ideally, experience working with Defense Customers. Flight test experience, including understanding wiring diagrams and aircraft systems, along with familiarity with engineering tools (montpa, x-scribe), Jira, and Bitbucket, is highly valued. Systems documentation development, systems testing, lab hardware maintenance, build loading, configuration management, equipment calibration checks, and lab experience are also key aspects of this position. Experience with formation positioning systems, a hardware focus as a systems engineer, system test/hardware test experience, test equipment knowledge, and an understanding of the certification process are important. The role demands proficiency in requirements, planning documents, verification testing, customer coordination, leadership, self-motivation, continuous learning, audits, troubleshooting, and experience with ISC/quality/shipping and receiving, along with electronics knowledge and lab/test experience. Familiarity with customer and FAA interfaces, safety principles, and aircraft interface/installation is necessary. Knowledge of SSA, FHA, SRTM, other sys docs, TSO deviations, Frequency Approval efforts, system integration, and MOPS is also required.
