About The Position

TerraTherm, Inc. is hiring a temporary Systems Operator located in the Providence, Rhode Island area. The role involves safely operating, monitoring, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and documenting vapor and liquid treatment systems on thermal remediation projects. The operator performs system rounds, collects process data and samples, responds to alarms, completes preventive and corrective maintenance, and coordinates with project management and engineering. Operators may also support construction, system modifications, startups, shutdowns, maintenance outages, and demobilization as project needs require. The level and responsibilities offered depend on verified experience, education, licenses, technical skills, and familiarity with industrial or environmental process equipment. This is a travel-based field position with extended assignments at project locations throughout the United States. Shifts may last 8 to 12 hours. Rotational schedules, overtime, weekends, holidays, night work, changing shifts, on-call duties, and after-hours alarm response may be required based on project needs. Work takes place at active industrial, construction, and environmental-remediation sites, indoors and outdoors, and may involve process equipment, moving machinery, pressurized piping, electrical systems, hazardous substances, elevated noise, hot equipment, uneven terrain, and changing weather. Respiratory protection may be required under site-specific safety plans or monitoring conditions. The position requires moderate physical effort, including extended standing and walking; climbing stairs or ladders; bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling; and lifting or carrying tools, equipment, filters, hoses, and consumables weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees must be able to work in required personal protective equipment and perform assigned tasks only when trained, qualified, and authorized. TerraTherm provides required training and supports ongoing technical development. The role offers hands-on experience with specialized thermal remediation technologies, process equipment, system controls, maintenance, and field operations, with opportunities to expand capabilities and project exposure. Pay is $28–$34 per hour depending on experience. Employment offers are conditional on passing a pre-employment criminal background check and drug test and maintaining a clean driving record in accordance with DOT requirements.
