Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required
  • English fluency (read, write, speak)
  • A minimum of 6-months powered industrial truck experience required
  • Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
  • Read and understand units of measure
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills
  • Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
  • Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role
  • Valid driver’s license preferred (must have in order to jockey trailers)

Nice To Haves

  • Past manufacturing experience operating equipment of similar complexity preferred
  • Front end loader experience preferred
  • ERP experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate all production machinery line systems with minimal supervision, including visual inspections, preventive maintenance, setup, troubleshooting, adjustments, and quality control testing (ASTM sieve, bulk density, flow rates).
  • Perform all production related documentation, data entry, and inventory management.
  • Understand and perform all required proper customer packaging.
  • Operate forklift/skid loader equipment to move and transport raw material, including performing pre-shift checks and end-of-shift cleaning and fueling.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment through 6S organization and housekeeping activities, including dumpster emptying and area preparation for sweepers.
  • Communicate production and quality changes to shift/department leads, submit work orders to maintenance, and explain maintenance issues.
  • Participate in pre-shift stretching exercises and review operations board for machinery functions, product information, and material placements.
  • Adapt to various assigned job locations and change job functions as needed.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment and conduct pre-operation safety checks.
  • Jockey trailers to and from docks using a yard spotter tractor.
  • Cross-train into other job functions and provide assistance to other departments as necessary.
