The Systems Operations Engineer supports the reliability, performance, and security of the organization’s core systems and infrastructure. This role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and developing strong operational practices while assisting in day ‑ to ‑ day system maintenance and issue resolution. Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in systems administration, operations, or a related technical role.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows server administration.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), with willingness to learn orchestration tools.
  • Basic proficiency with Git-based version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Bash) at a beginner to intermediate level.
  • Experience using monitoring or observability tools.
  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, routing).
  • Experience participating in incident response workflows or ticket-based troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Infrastructure ‑ as ‑ Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise network concepts such as switching, routing, and load balancing is preferred.
  • Basic exposure to container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) is preferred.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and DevOps workflows is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile or SAFe practices is preferred.
  • Exposure to identity management concepts and enterprise authentication systems is preferred.
  • Entry ‑ level technical certifications (CompTIA Linux+, Network+, Azure Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Practitioner, etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of server, storage, and cloud infrastructure across production and non ‑ production environments.
  • Monitoring system performance using established tools and processes, escalating issues when necessary to ensure availability and SLA adherence.
  • Supporting automation efforts by maintaining scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and incident handling under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Participating in troubleshooting activities and contributing to root ‑ cause analysis led by more senior team members.
  • Helping maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational standards, ensuring information is accurate and up ‑ to ‑ date.
  • Assisting in implementing backup and disaster recovery procedures and helping execute business continuity processes as directed.
  • Collaborating with Security, DevOps, Network Engineering, and Application teams to support platform stability and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Supporting the lifecycle management of infrastructure components, including patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Participating in the on ‑ call rotation and assisting with incident response activities.
  • Contributing to evaluating new tools and processes, providing recommendations as part of team discussions.
  • Supporting the deployment and configuration of infrastructure solutions.
  • Assisting with automation tasks and routine systems management activities.
  • Participating in troubleshooting and supporting senior engineers during root ‑ cause analysis.
  • Collaborating with cross ‑ functional teams on operational tasks and project work.
  • Contributing input during technology evaluations led by senior staff.
  • Participating in SAFe/Agile ceremonies as a contributor to iterative delivery cycles.
  • Assisting with capacity reviews and supporting infrastructure planning efforts.
