About The Position

This position administers a full range of services such as designing, building, securing, and maintaining the core hardware and software communication systems, such as routers, switches, local area networks (LANs), and cloud connectivity. Leads initiatives to develop solutions and processes for the agency's computing servers, network, and other enterprise information technology systems. This position is focused on physical systems on the premises and in the cloud service providers for the agency. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Requirements

• Knowledge of various on-site and cloud based enterprise infrastructure technologies and in-house developed applications
• Knowledge of Google Workspace
• Strong Customer service skills
• Teamwork, problem-solving, listening skills
• Expert troubleshooting skills
• Skill in PowerShell scripting with Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server tools, network concepts such as IP addressing, routing, VLAN, DMZ, VPN
• Ability to balance priorities and organize multiple tasks
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and across organizations
• Ability to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly
• Ability to build strong relationships inside and outside the organization
• Ability to develop and write technical documentation
• Ability to evaluate and test emerging technologies.
• Requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job.
• Must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license.
• Must complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks.
• Must maintain acceptable driving records.
• Must complete all required driver training.
• Shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11) if operating a personally owned vehicle on state business.
• Must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or information systems.
• A minimum of 8 years of extensive experience in systems engineering (CompTIA Network+, Cisco, Microsoft, ISC^2).

Responsibilities

• Performs system analysis, designs, constructs, and tests infrastructure for all enterprise infrastructure systems agency wide.
• Reviews configuration change proposals for compliance to established standards, guidelines and policies for all enterprise infrastructure systems agency wide from customers.
• Provides guidance, assistance, training, and education for all enterprise infrastructure systems to Agency customers, contractors and external parties occasionally.
• Install and repair enterprise infrastructure hardware and software, i.e. servers, storage, network fabrics.
• Act as a technical lead for various projects
• Travel to remote sites and off-site
