About The Position

Join the Loudoun County Department of General Services (DGS) as a Systems Maintenance Technician II and be part of a team that keeps our county’s facilities running efficiently. We are seeking skilled plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians to help maintain and repair critical building systems across various county properties. If you have expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems and want to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, we encourage you to apply! Successful candidates will respond promptly and directly to work requests, diagnose, initiate, and complete minor mechanical, electric, and plumbing repairs in County Government facilities, receive and close-out work requests by computer and/or hand-held electronic device, inspect facilities and report HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems or unsafe conditions and routinely meet with County employees and supervisors when responding to work requests. Must provide superior customer service at all times. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of related work experience in MEP trades (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be available to respond to County emergencies (24/7) as directed in accordance with Department policy and written or verbal directive.
  • Requires on-call response to out-of-hour emergency/priority work requests (on a rotating basis at one-week intervals approximately every six (6) weeks).

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience.
  • Hold or obtain CFC license (Universal Refrigerant Recovery) and forklift license within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities
